Privacy Policy

Last updated April 2026

Veil does not collect, store, or sell any personal information. No account or login is required.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out at google.com/settings/ads. We comply with Google's EU User Consent Policy for visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland.

Cookies

Veil uses browser localStorage to remember which images you have seen in your current session. No personally identifiable information is stored. Third-party cookies may be set by Google AdSense for advertising purposes. The localStorage data expires after 2 hours.

Third-Party Content

All photography and artwork is sourced from public APIs including Unsplash, Pexels, Pixabay, Openverse, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Art Institute of Chicago. Community photography is sourced from public Reddit subreddits. Clicking through to any source means you are subject to that platform's own terms and privacy policy.

Image Attribution

Unsplash photographers are credited by name and linked to their profiles on every card, in compliance with Unsplash API Terms of Service. Pexels photographers are credited where the API returns photographer data. Source credits appear on all cards and in the site footer.

Data Security

Veil collects no personal data. Browsing history stored in your browser's localStorage lives only on your own device and clears after 2 hours.
